The Singapore Consulting Club aims to gather anyone interested to join the consulting industry and based in Singapore.
Consulting firms are in a demanding business and therefore are very picky towards the people they hire. Yes, the consulting profession is very rewarding but is also extremely competitive to enter (the more prestigious the firm, the more difficult the recruitment process).
Furthermore, the interview format used in the consulting profession is very specific. Most of the firms use a combination of personal experience interview (PEI) and case interviews. The reason they do that is simple: those interviews are a pretty good indicator on how good the candidate will be on the job.
Mastering consulting interviews is a difficult task. Without a serious preparation, the odds for a candidate to be selected are very slim. Even for someone who studied in the best universities. This is because PEI and case interviews are not "natural" skills that we develop during our personal, academic or professional experience. You must be trained in them.
This is the precise objective of the Singapore Consulting Club: to provide support and help for candidates who wants to prepare for their consulting interviews.
We adopted the social website model because we want SCC members to be transparent and know each other. By doing so, we trust each other when sharing tips, materials or methods. We are also able to interact directly to practice live cases. This is actually the reason why this is group is restricted to people living in Singapore. Practicing a case live with someone face-to-face is just not simply the same thing as doing it over the phone or the internet. Thus, the SCC is and will remain on a local scale.
Thanks for being a part of the Singapore Consulting Club, we sincerely hope it will help you to build your future success!
